On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys were hoping to go into the bye week with a win over the Detroit Lions at AT&T Stadium on owner and general manager Jerry Jones’ 82nd birthday. Instead, they were handed a 47-9 loss, which saw them drop to 3-3.

While most fans blamed the ineptitude on the offensive end and the inability of the defense to stop Jared Goff, some claimed that Sabrina Carpenter played a role in their defeat.

The singer and actress, who is currently on tour, has been spotted wearing gear of the franchises that belong to the city she performs in. In the aftermath, those teams have suffered some heartbreaking losses, prompting some to believe in the ‘Sabrina Carpenter Curse.’

She was spotted wearing a Cowboys sweatshirt before the team’s outing against the Lions, which some fans on X claimed was the reason for the loss:

“Saw something about the Sabrina Carpenter curse and the Cowboys just lost 47-9 today on their home turf so it may be time to have a discussion,” one fan said.

“please don’t let sabrina carpenter near any dallas cowboys gear for the rest of her life,” another added.

A couple of fans compared her to rapper Drake.

“Her curse may be more lethal than drakes lol,” another quipped.

“She’s the new Drake curse,” one fan said.

However, some fans claimed that Carpenter played no role in the Cowboys’ loss:

The Cowboys aren’t the only team that has had a tough time after Sabrina Carpenter was seen sporting the team’s gear.

In June, the singer was spotted wearing Premier League side Manchester United’s unreleased goalkeeper kit. The team lost its season opener to crosstown rivals Manchester City in the FA Community Shield and are 14th in the league table.

While on tour in Toronto in September, she wore a custom the NHL’s Maple Leafs jersey during her set. They suffered a surprise 1-0 loss in their season opener against the Montreal Canadiens despite taking 48 shots at goal.

Last week, she wore a Philadelphia Phillies jersey during her concert at the Wells Fargo Center. A day later, the team lost Game 4 of their NLDS series against the New York Mets and was eliminated from the postseason.

Most of the misfortune those teams have suffered in the aftermath of Carpenter sporting their jersey can be deemed incidental. However, some choose to believe that any franchise whose gear she wears is cursed and doomed to succumb to a harrowing fate.
