Former Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr’s Los Angeles home was burglarized on July 12. The perpetrators remain at large.

Barr, who starred for the Vikings in the 2010s, went to school in Los Angeles and later played college football for the UCLA Bruins. Despite spending a big part of his life in Minnesota, he built a house in California.

Burglars ransacked the place on July 12, leaving no evidence behind. Even though the cops arrived at the scene very quickly, they found the place empty.

TMZ spoke with the cops, who discovered that Barr’s security camera caught a few shady-looking individuals entering the house around 2 a.m. on July 12. They smashed the rear window, which allowed them access to the house.

However, the cops failed to notify what the burglars stole from Barr’s house. Fortunately, the 32-year-old was not at the house. The cops have yet to make any arrests.

Barr started out as an offensive player for the Bruins, playing as a running back and then wide receiver. However, his physique suited the role of defender, so the coaches decided to put him in the linebacker spot, which was a masterstroke. In the last two seasons at UCLA (2012 and 2013), Barr racked up 156 tackles and 10 forced fumbles and was named the 2013 Consensus All-American.

The Vikings selected him 9^th overall in the 2014 draft, and he went on to play 8 seasons for the Minnesota franchise. Then, after a one-year layover with the Cowboys in 2022, Barr returned for a second stint with the Vikings. However, he barely got a look in.

At the end of the campaign, he was released from the team and is currently a free agent. There are plenty of teams looking for an experienced pass rusher for depth. The Vikings are not one of them because they added three during the offseason on top of second-year star Ivan Pace Jr.

The Dallas Cowboys, on the other hand, could be a potential landing spot for Barr. They hired his former Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and also signed former UCLA and Vikings teammate Eric Kendricks, who spent the last season with the Los Angeles Rams.

Micah Parsons will undoubtedly be the starting edge rusher for the Cowboys. Yet there’s always the possibility of an injury, and hence adding Barr will not be a bad move.
