Kyle Van Noy Still Reeling from the Ravens’ Playoff Elimination—Why This Loss Stings More Than Ever!

NFL: AFC Divisional Round- Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills - Source: Imagn

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy is still hurting following the team’s NFL Divisional Round Playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills last week. He has one more shot next season as he is in the middle of a two-year, $9 million contract with the Ravens.

“Still butthurt smh,” the linebacker posted on X.

In the game against the Bills, Van Noy had half a sack but the Ravens’ defense in general was unable to take the ball away from the Bills. Despite having only 273 total yards compared to the Ravens’ 416 yards on offense, the Bills secured a 27-25 victory.

Ravens OLB Kyle Van Noy opens up on how he ended up back in Baltimore

Four days ago, the Ravens linebacker spoke about the elimination on his podcast “McCoy & Van Noy” with former all-pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy.

“This one hurts, mainly because we had, this is not blaming anybody but three turnovers is rough in any game. Hard to win a game like that when you have three turnovers,” the linebacker said.

He was also not happy with the output of the defensive unit.

“I wasn’t happy with how our group played on defense responding to some situations. In the second half, very happy with the way we handled the situation. We bowed up really well, wish we did it a little bit sooner, but we had the right attitude and energy in the second half,” he added.

He admitted that their performance was not good enough against a strong team like the Buffalo Bills.

“It just wasn’t enough. You put yourself against a really good team with a turnover and fumble. They played fundamentally sound,” Van Noy said.

Despite not making it to the Super Bowl, Kyle Van Noy had an impressive individual season. The 33-year-old made his first Pro Bowl after 11 years in the league. He posted a career-high 12.5 sacks this season for the Ravens, who had the second-highest sack total in the entire league. He is replacing the Steelers T.J. Watt in the Pro Bowl.

He is one of the only Ravens to have experienced the joys of winning the Super Bowl not once but twice. He had previously won the Super Bowl twice during his time with the New England Patriots from 2016 to 2019.
