Kevin Durant Feels Sorry for Dallas Cowboys: ‘It’s Not Fun’

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) throws a pass

NBA superstar Kevin Durant, a longtime Washington Commanders fan, couldn’t resist taking a jab at the Dallas Cowboys during their recent struggles.

As the Cowboys face increasing criticism, Durant joined the growing list of detractors with a unique mix of humor and sarcasm.

Appearing on the Up and Adams podcast, Durant offered his take on the Cowboys’ situation, particularly after their humiliating 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions.

While he expressed mock concern, it was clear that his sympathy wasn’t entirely genuine. “It’s almost sad now,” Durant said, highlighting the struggles of the Cowboys and team owner Jerry Jones.

Durant, a native of Washington, D.C., has never hidden his disdain for Dallas, even after attending college in Texas.

As a Commanders fan, the Cowboys are his natural rival, and their recent performance has given him plenty of ammunition.

“I’ve seen Jerry Jones going off on reporters,” Durant said. “They just need to get a W, that’s all it takes. Winning cures all.”

Despite his remarks, Durant couldn’t help but relish in the Cowboys’ poor form, though he admitted it’s no longer as satisfying. “I’m very sad, man. 47-9?” he said, sarcastically.

“You know why? Because we just know they’re not that good. At least if it would’ve been a tight game, they could’ve fooled people into believing that they’re contenders.”

While Durant may not have much faith in the Cowboys, his comments revealed his preference for a more competitive rivalry.

“You want them to lose, but not like that,” he concluded, longing for more entertaining moments from Dallas – at least the kind that lead to dramatic losses when it matters most.
