Dak Prescott Focused on ‘Staying Present’ as Cowboys Navigate Offseason Struggles

As the Dallas Cowboys enter a pivotal offseason, quarterback Dak Prescott is offering fans a glimpse into his personal mindset, which is focused on living in the present moment.

The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing 2024 season with a 7-10 record, and while the team works on rebuilding under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, Prescott is taking a step back to focus on the immediate.

In an Instagram post, Prescott shared a reel featuring a poignant message from an older woman who spoke about always looking forward to the next milestone in life: “I’ll be so glad when they’re out of diapers. I’ll be so glad when they start school. I’ll be so glad when this…when that, when we can retire.”

However, Prescott added his own personal touch to this advice: “Stay Present .”

His message was a reminder that true happiness isn’t in waiting for the next big thing, it’s in appreciating and fully engaging with what’s happening right now.

This perspective is especially resonant in Prescott’s personal life.

In February 2024, he and his fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Margaret Jane “MJ” Rose.

Just months after, in December 2024, they shared the news of expecting their second child, a baby girl due in May 2025.

While their family continues to grow, Prescott’s “stay present” philosophy serves as a reminder to savor the current joys rather than worry about the future.

Despite the challenges the Cowboys faced in 2024, particularly Prescott’s hamstring injury that cut his season short, the veteran quarterback is determined to bounce back stronger in 2025.

His recovery from surgery in November has put him in a position to return to form, though questions about his mobility remain.

As Dallas works on roster adjustments, including potential key signings during free agency, Prescott’s focus remains on making the most of the present moment, both for his family and his career.

With a $240 million contract and a commitment to his team, Prescott’s mindset is clear: he’s not dwelling on what has been, but instead focusing on the now, something that will likely be key as the Cowboys continue their offseason overhaul.
