The girlfriend of 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk has hit back at those criticizing players on the team for dating ‘regular’ women ahead of Super Bowl LVIII.
Rochelle Searight, who has been in a relationship one of San Francisco’s star wide receivers since their teen years, shared her concerns over judgmental comments on her appearance, as well as the ones of other 49ers WAGs, after they showed their excitement in the team’s NFC Championship celebrations on social media.
Some users on X, formerly Twitter, described the women as ‘mid’ or ‘basic,’ possibly due to their lack of filters, botox, and other injections and surgery work. One person event went as far as to suggest that 49ers players ‘make too much money to have mid wives,’ while another tweeted: ‘Glad they girlfriend, which equal they all gettin’ all cheating on.’
But, Searight has now had enough of the misogyny online, taking to TikTok to let some of her haters know that ‘y’all brains are a little messed up.
‘I’m talking to the people that are like so rude about players dating ”regular women” because nothing about is regular, I’ll tell you that right now,’ she added. ‘None of y’all probably seen us in person but there ain’t nothing about us regular.
‘Before the era of TikTok, you were only seeing the NFL-celebrity duos that were getting thrown into the media because they were the only good-looking couples. And then you would only see those couples. I’m still a little bit baffled because me and my man, we’ve been looking good together.
‘Don’t make me pop out with some pictures. But all I know is the media has y’all fooled.
‘Y’all have been fooled. A majority of NFL players do not date only actresses and models.’
Searight, 26, is pursuing a career in cosmetology, according to The New York Post. She roughly has 267,000 followers on TikTok, 17,000 on Instagram and 34,200 on YouTube, where she shares details of her status as the girlfriend of an NFL player.
Aiyuk and Searight share a son together, Braylon.
The 49ers will be hoping to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, two years on from last appearance in 2020 (LIV). They lost that game to the same opponent as this year’s contest, which is being held in Las Vegas.
Aiyuk proved to be lethal for the 49ers this season, as he had 75 receptions for a career-high 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.
He was selected 25th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
