Instead of attending Coachella like his NFL rival Travis Kelce, tight end George Kittle was at the Augusta Masters. The San Francisco 49ers player was accompanied by his wife Claire Kittle and Peyton Manning.
The offseason will come to a close very soon, and all the players will return to their teams. But before resuming their NFL lives, they are enjoying time with their near and dear ones.
George Kittle opted for a mellowed-down event after getting booed by the Philadelphia crowd at WrestleMania. He traveled to Augusta, Georgia, to attend the Annual Masters Golf Tournament. His wife Claire, along with former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning and Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins, were present.
On the tournament’s first day, ESPN’s Laura Rutledge asked Kittle about several 49ers-related topics. Rutledge quizzed him about the roster changes in the upcoming season.
Brock Purdy is a fantastic quarterback, [and] he's only going to get better. And we were fortunate enough to keep our entire offense, which is really beneficial when your whole O-line stays together. So we're just hoping that our offense can take another step forward.George Kittle told Laura Rutledge
George and Claire Kittle celebrated their anniversary recently
The pair celebrated their marriage anniversary before their appearance at the annual golf event. On April 10th, George wrote a heartfelt message on Instagram.
5 years! A day has not gone by that you haven’t made me smile. I hope I’ve done that for you! Cheers to many many more years and great times! Love you Darlin
George Kittle wrote under his Instagram post
Claire replied to the post, “I love you, Footface.“
Two days later, the couple packed their bags and jetted away to Milwaukee. Luke Combs was hosting his concert at American Family Field, home of MLB’s Brewers. Claire shared a few pictures from the event on her storyboard.
How did they get married?
Per People Magazine, George met Claire while playing in Iowa. In 2019, the two eloped in April 2019, which surprised Claire.
I had always looked up to those people who ran away and eloped [or] just walked right up to the courthouse and left married. I thought it was cool. We knew football was starting up again, [and] the Lord knows nothing but football gets done during football season. So we pulled the trigger and planned this wedding in a week!
Clarie Kittle wrote of the ceremony
Since entering the league in 2017, George Kittle has played seven seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He has reached 1000 yards three times—the best coming in 2018 with 88 receptions for 1377 yards and 5 touchdowns.
