NFL star DeKaylin “DK” Metcalf is taking his relationship with Normani to the next level.
On Thursday, DK revealed that he and the Fifth Harmony alum were engaged. The couple’s engagement comes two years after they confirmed their relationship on Instagram in July 2023. DK announced the big news while talking with reporters after he was traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“My family and her family was in Houston. It was my sister’s Spring Break and just thought about getting the whole family together for a big kumbaya and joining our families with the ring,” DK told reporters, noting that he proposed yesterday, on Wednesday.
DK took pride in asking Normani for her hand in marriage, and he even insisted she flaunt the “rock” he bought her.

“Hold that rock up, baby,” the pro-athlete told Normani, who was sitting to the side of him.
DK shared that the award-winning artist would be with him during his visit with his new team in a video shared online, where he referred to Normani as his “beautiful fiancée.”
Speaking more on his proposal with reporters later in the conference, DK admitted he had wanted to propose ever since last year, but there were scheduling conflicts on her part. He explained that he wanted to “take an approach to where a schedule couldn’t matter.”
DK confessed: “I started sending her flowers with a story and then the last letter on the flower was ‘Will you marry?’ And she said yes.”
Normani and DK were introduced to each other by Ciara and Russell Wilson, who the footballer said already congratulated them on their engagement.
In June 2022, romance rumors between DK and Normani began circulating after the pair were spotted having dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California.
Normani told Rolling Stone last June that she was “happy” in her relationship.
“I am very happy. Definitely an answered prayer,” she said. “I’ve experienced a lot with relationships. I’m a real lover girl. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and finding space where that’s reciprocated feels good. I like to see myself happy. I really do.”
